What do you get when you mix handmade dog toys, a bag full of PupGrade goodies, and a pack of pups named after cheese?
The best. day. ever.
In celebration of National Craft for Your Local Shelter Day yesterday, we were thrilled to team up with the Humane Society of Pinellas to give a little extra love to some adoptable pups—and meet an absolutely adorable snack-sized crew! 🧀
Crafting for a Cause
National Craft for Your Local Shelter Day is all about using creativity to give back. It encourages animal lovers to make handmade toys, blankets, and enrichment items for pets in shelters. A simple craft can bring real comfort to an animal waiting for its forever home.
The PupGrade team got together with felt, fabric, and fluff in hand and made a batch of handmade dog toys from scratch. Every toy was made with care to offer comfort, enrichment, and play to pups at the shelter.
How We Spoiled Some Seriously Cute Shelter Dogs
The Humane Society of Pinellas is a nonprofit doing life-changing work, providing medical care, shelter, and second chances to animals in need. We love partnering with them, and when National Craft for Your Local Shelter Day rolled around, we couldn’t wait to do something special for their pups.
Our team got to work crafting handmade felt toys and then filled a few big bags with both the toys and a full lineup of PupGrade goodies—Wool Balls, Dental Solution, Shampoo + Conditioner, Joint Support, Skin & Coat Chews, and Daily Multivitamins.
The PupGrade pack was so excited to visit our friends at the Humane Society and drop off the goodies. But one of the highlights was meeting Asiago, Cheddar, Manchego, and Gouda—a pup-sized charcuterie board of cuteness that had them smiling the whole visit.
It wasn’t just the pups who made an impression—the entire experience left our team feeling inspired, grateful, and even more in awe of the amazing work the Humane Society does every day. 💛
Here’s what a couple of our team members had to say about the visit:
We had such an awesome time! The Humane Society of Pinellas is so amazing and the entire staff there is incredible. You can really see the love and care that goes into everything that they do. So happy to see the staff and the puppies love their new goodies!
- Kelly
The space is super clean and well taken care of, and it really shows how much love goes into everything they do. The pups were so adorable! So grateful we got to spend time there and support a place doing such awesome work
